he Granary provides a gentle and luxurious escape into the rugged beauty and peace and quiet of Northumberland.
Just an hours drive north west of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne near the village of Rothbury on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, this exceptional conversion of a former granary easily accommodates eight with all the comforts of home - And then some!
On the ground floor the accommodation comprises a delightfully airy master bedroom with ensuite bathroom - with bath, a separate shower and WC, and a large walk-in dressing room. Moving along the corridor with its traditional stone flagged floor is a pretty single bedroom (with extra pull-out bed). There is a separate cloakroom/WC and a useful utility/boot room with automatic washing machine and tumble drier.
Going up the pine staircase to the first floor we enter the fully equipped farmhouse kitchen with exposed stonework and original roof beams. With electric cooker / gas hob, microwave oven and fridge freezer And the dishwasher settles those inevitable arguments over the washing up.
Then there is the impressive open-plan living room with original roof beams and cosy inglenook fireplace with cast iron stove (gas fired). And then there is the breathtaking view from the huge window right over the Coquet Valley to the rugged beauty of the Simonside Hills.
Also upstairs is another well appointed double bedroom, a comfortable twin bedded room and a bathroom with overbath shower spray and WC.
The Granary is fully double glazed and centrally heated. Electricity, oil for the central heating and gas are all supplied as are duvets, linen, towels and a handy payphone.
Other facilities include a cot & highchair together with patio furniture and barbecue to make the very most of the large garden. There is also plenty of off-road parking.
