Rothbury Northumberland

he Granary is located in a peaceful off-road setting on our working farm of Charity Hall located near the hamlet of Sharperton, Rothbury.

Located on the very edge of the Northumberland National Park, the nearby footpaths provide wonderful walking and trekking over the hills and surrounding countryside - So don't forget your sensible shoes and outdoor gear. For the relentlessly energetic, mountain bikes provide an exhilerating way to explore, with miles and miles of trails weaving through Forestry Commission woodlands and along the plentiful public bridleways. We have plenty of space to secure your bikes.

The area also provides much of interest to bird and nature watchers - Bring your binoculars.

We have an open lawn for ballgames and kite flying is fun when the wind's in the right direction. Children are welcome to help collect the eggs from our free range hens (sorry, no pets please, the sheep get nervous), and always enjoy meeting Bob, our friendly goose.

The nearby village of Rothbury offers its very own golf course and swimming pool, as well as shops, restaurants and pubs. The River Coquet is famously one of the cleanest rivers in Britain, so fine fishing is available locally. Oh, and did we mention the horse riding.....

Indoors, The Granary has its own TV, VCR and CD/cassette player, as well as a selection of cards, games and books. We've included lots of information of interest about our local history, areas to visit and a list of useful telephone numbers.
